The Book2Go app for Xerox ConnectKey-enabled devices is deceptively simple: it’s a book scanning app. It works for any kind of document (which is nice), but the app is intended for books. You must be wondering how that differs at all from the built in scanning functionality of your Xerox machine—and that’s where things get pretty clever.
Once you’ve scanned however many pages of a desired book, the Book2Go app generates a QR code. This code can be scanned with a mobile phone, tablet, or any other QR-capable device. Once the QR code is scanned, the previously scanned pages of the book (or document) will automatically be downloaded to the user’s device. It’s a fully wireless way to rapidly get something scanned on the MFP and sent to the user’s preferred device.
Book2Go Works Without Networking—No Complicated Setup Required
As described in the previous section, the Book2Go app generates a QR code, which the user can then use to download their scanned book pages/documents. But how does this data go from the printer to the device without any networking configured?
Book2Go doesn’t require any networking configuration, because the scanned pages are securely stored on Book2Go’s third party servers. The QR code is essentially just a download link. To the end user, the process is completely seamless. Smart, right?
